After Darwin
SYNOPSIS
When Darwin published One the Origins of the Species in 1859, he started a revolution and challenged faith. Nearly a century later, in 1953, the discovery of the double helix structure of DNA began a new bio-technological revolution. After Darwin is a two-part documentary that looks at the possibilities and problems of genetic sciences. The film traces the history and science of genetics, from Darwin to the double helix, to the cloning of recombinant DNA and Dolly the sheep, and on to the latest advancements in gene research and applications. We journey across three continents to some of the key locations and most dramatic events in the unfolding story of evolutionary science.
